POTUS Roundtable on Human Trafficking

(today)

17 minutes.

I heard it all.

Eyewitness testimony from border LE, rescuers, etc.

Somewhat graphic on children trafficked, young girls forced to service men 30-40x per day, poor/ignorant women recruited in Mexico with promises of "a better life in America", then trafficked and forced to be prostitutes to "pay" for their trafficking, brothel chains where the women are circulated from one brothel to another endlessly. Didn't get into the really gory stuff but the sex trafficking of young children is horrific enough.

Recommended.

My take: POTUS is lifting the veil on these horrors a little at a time, dictated by the pace of public consumption.

One of the people said the reason why there's so much trafficking now, more than ever before, is because (1) the internet enables it and (2) AMERICANS are the biggest consumers of PORNOGRAPHY.

Rhetorical question: how do you reduce the demand for an illegal product that involves some horrific abuses, such as making porn movies with 5 year old kids who were kidnapped in Mexico (one of the stories told in the video) ?
