I had a friend who miscarried in a hospital (a Catholic hospital). She asked if she could have the baby so she could have a funeral for it. It took a couple of weeks but they finally gave her a box of the remains. Well, you know she was going to look in the box right? No baby. After raising all kinds of hell, she finally got a fetus to bury but, I always wondered if it was hers and what they were doing with miscarried babies.
