I think the deal with abortion in China is that they tax so heavily for couples that have more than one child. Overpopulation. I read about it many years ago…couples choose to get the amniocentesis test to tell whether boy or girl, and if girl, they abort, because most want a son if they can only have one. I couldn't find the sauce again if you paid me, but I do remember the gist of the article was that in 20 years (and it has been that long since I read it,) the ratio of boys to girls in China would be 100 to 1, leaving a virtual army of young men in their 20's with nowhere to viably burn testosterone. Except perhaps in war.
