This is good. Keeps focus on Northam not some POTUS scandal leading up to SOTU.

If they get Northam to resign and move Fairfax in they can completely cover up the abortion remarks by claiming they rectified the racism problem. With Fairfax in they'll retry the abortion law with a better spokesman.

As long as Northam stays in POTUS can deal out the facts on the real Northam scandal, his abortion remarks. that will be in the SOTU.

Thinking Northam cut a deal. Overnight the guy decides to tell the whole dem establishment to fuck off. Can't do that without major players having your back.

I think POTUS knows the lowdown on the photo. POTUS's answer to a press question about the abortion remarks (before the blackface pic surfaced) was, "I've met the guy. I'm surprised he said that." Kind of tells me he knows Northam well enough to make him an offer if Northam was being screwed over by his own party.

Deal could be along the lines of helping save his rep rather than resigning in disgrace as a racism scapegoat. Say, for example, it is shown the dems doctored the yearbook to get him to resign. Northam then says he fucked up on the abortion thing, didn't think it through, etc. That's what the woman co-sponsor has done. In such a scenario people may give him a second chance, which would be better than resigning because, 'you're a racist'.

Potus has called him out in a tweet about the abortion stuff, but hasn't demanded he resign, or even mentioned resigning, as far as I know. Getting called names by POTUS comes with the territory, and may even be terms of endearment in some cases, so I don't take it that too seriously.

Gillespie was a never-Trumper, so POTUS is telling them they ain't got shit. It was addressed to the Romney/Egg McMuffin crew IMO. It's the second stanza of the "Romney choked like a dog in 2012" song.

Might also be telling them he knows what they've been up to.
