Trump: I would have run into school during shooting even without a gun

President Trump on Monday claimed he would have run into a Florida high school to prevent a gunman from carrying out this month's mass shooting.

"I really believe I'd run in there even if I didn't have a weapon,โ€ Trump told a gathering of governors at the White House.

The president was doubling down on his criticism of an armed sheriffโ€™s deputy who did not confront the shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed earlier this month.

Trump also told the governors he ate lunch last weekend with leaders of the National Rifle Association.

"Don't worry about the NRA,โ€ Trump told the governors. โ€They're on our side.โ€

Like Trump saidโ€ฆ there are ex military, ex leo, gun enthusiasts who happen to be teachers and could be completely safe and competent with a firearm.

If you give them a bonus for being armed, you're going to get some real dumbasses carrying around guns just because they needed the extra $$

I'd like to see the president talking about raising pay for teachers in general. They are more important than almost any other profession in shaping the character of our youth.>>502191
