Invalidity of Polls - Out of Concern for Normalization of Infanticide
Was reminded about something Bernard Nathanson (ex abortionist, see below) had explained at a small pro-life conference in Delaware some years back re polls (Christopher Smith and Rick Santorum were in attendance I recall).
He explained how they conspired in NY around the time of Roe vs Wade to condition people to get people to accept abortion as normal, how they continually publicized polls falsely increasing the number of those who approved, conditioning us to slowly accept it and see we (pro-lifers) were in the minority.

statistics and figures. We succeeded [in breaking down the laws limiting abortions] because the time was right and the news media cooperated. We sensationalized the effects of illegal abortions, and fabricated polls which indicated that 85% of the public favoured unrestricted abortion, when we knew it was only 5%. We unashamedly lied, and yet our statements were quoted [by the media] as though they had been written in law.'

So this push back on infanticide is especially great since I do not recall this kind of push back on abortion when initially promoted as a women's right.
Especially disturbed that Catholic bishops weighed in AFTER the bill was signed in NY but failed to reveal that it was under consideration in advance so that NYers and others could protest and possibly block it somehow.
