Power went out for a couple hours twice this winter reminding me of when it went out for 2wks during an Ice Storm and I broke down and got it.

Was $1,000 +tax on sale at Rural King for $500 and could not pass it up.

Thinking a Lock Out would be easier than a Transfer Switch.

Gonna get a 100lb Propane tank for it. Drill a hole from fuse box in basement to back porch, mount a plug and then I just roll it from the garage, plug it in, and "BAM", Heat , Computers, Plex server, and TVs, Coffee Maker good to go.

Those 2 weeks I used the Marine battery in my truck to run bare essentials. Sucked Bigly!
