New York prosecutors plan to subpoena Trump inauguration committee: report
BC News, citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter, reported that prosecutors in the Southern District of New York's public corruption section reached out to the inaugural committee on Monday and told it of their plans.
It remains unclear what documents the district is requesting in its ongoing probe of Trump campaign and inauguration finances.
ABC News noted that Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has been repeatedly interviewed by prosecutors in the district as part of its probe. Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg has also agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
A Southern District of New York spokesperson declined to comment to the news network. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill.
