Information Poisoning is found throughout nature. Organisms will exploit perceptual biases to evade predators or to attract prey; some species practice deception on many levels.

The Paussid or “ant’s nest” beetle forges chemical signals which blinds the ants, its prey, to the beetle’s presence among them. The Paussid beetle eats the ant’s children and lays its eggs in worker's bodies which it paralyses an injected toxin it also manufactures.

Note that the beetle injects false information to deceive the ants inside the perceptual loop of the ants, by synthesizing their chemical language. The Passidae are living organic chem labs able to synthesize many chemicals, not just to make themselves invisible to aunts but to cause them to perform certain actions beneficial to the ants and the any remain blind to the enemies living in their midst.

Normally we consider the eye reliable. Unless there is a reason to suspect forgery, we’re usually willing to accept the signal we receive from our eyes, even when it comes over a known insecure, anonymous network, like the POS internet onto the screen, large our small which is 98 % of information exchanged with out environment these days.

Social subversion tactic have the objective of “crashing” the civilization. Attack cognitive capacity, promote binary thinking, gradually constrict public vocabulary, introduce self-destructive and subliminally active material into the high school curriculum.

Posit a victim population with diminished cognitive capacity sustained from decades of adverse IO, now liberated.

The cultural OS is a mess, old certainties seen to be fraudulent, nothing makes sense, trusted public figures can’t be trusted.

There is opportunity in the chaos. Pavlov showed that the period following induced neurological disorganization was one of enhanced receptivity and plasticity.

What we learn about ourselves in that learning period is important, it will be foundational. To be a sound foundation it need not be “rational” – no more rational than quantum behaviors but it must include those behaviors analogically – in human life that means recognizing the unconscious dominant role in human decision making.

Any effort to remediate IO damage should have the object of creating a robust, versatile consciousness able to alter and revise understanding of reality.

Our historical records have been falsified in was both trivial and gross. Programming which specifically addresses and corrects that record where evidence is available is desirable though every effort should be made to be clear where there is conjecture this must be stated.

Information War, Non-Linear War, or as the Chinese call it Unrestricted War, is a perpetual conflict between nations and sovereign actors which employs every available means; economic, political, technological to defeat an opponent. This form of overt/covert conflict is amplified by technological evolution which has created tightly networked populations who can be targeted with specially prepared information and manipulated as group or individually.

In addition to the psyops or Information Operation carried out by the militaries and intelligence agencies of parties to the conflict, the public has had decades of peacetime exposure to unperceived influence technologies. Tactics addressed to the unconscious older portions of the brain to activate emotional response. The damage done is progressive and cumulative.

When psychology professor Wilson Bryan Key documented the ubiquitous use of subliminal technologies in advertising and editorial media content back in the 1980s, the advertising and “entertainment” industry made a significant effort to deny, distract and confuse the public about the issue, attacking Key as a dirty minded crank and trotting out a legion of paid experts to dispute and ultimately dismiss the possibility that subliminals were ever widely used or could ever be effective. Any academic researcher who shines light on the area subliminal influence in use today can expect a more sophisticated Information Operation to discredit them and their work.

Behavioral economists like Danial Kahneman, Dan Airley have written best selling books establishing the existence of an unconscious component of mind and characterized this mysterious part of our minds sufficiently well to establish that it plays the dominant role in our non-formal decision making.

The unconscious component of our mind can be conditioned to experience respond emotionally to consumer commodity products. As Key, in the 1980s “Subliminal embedding can make celebrities, models, automobiles, food products, politicians or scapegoats or any other merchandise more attractive, exciting, flavorful and appealing. Modern media usually avoid confronting the audience with factual realities at the level of conscious perception. Fantasies are far more engaging than unembellished perceptions.”
