• a call for unity: govern not as two parties but one nation

• agenda: not GOP or DEM; of the American people

• defend American jobs, rebuilt infrastructure, health care system, security, foreign policy: put American first

• Victory: not winning for our party but for our country

• June: 75 years since the start of "the Great Crusade" (Allied liberation of Europe WWII)

• D-Day: 3 heroes are here tonight

• "Gentlemen, we salute you"

• 2019 - 50 years since the Moon landing; one of the Apollo astronauts is here: Buzz Aldrin

• This year, astronauts will go back to space on American rockets

• 20th century: American saved freedom, transformed science, helped the middle class

• There's nothing that can compete with America

• Now: time for a new chapter, an amazing quality of life is within reach: safer, richer, faith deeper, more prosperous middle class

• But we must reject the politics of revenge, resistance and retribution

• Must embrace the common good

• Must choose unification, Greatness

LAST TWO YEARS

• Last 2 years: my admin. has taken on problems ignored previously

• Many new jobs, but we are just getting started

• Wages are rising, especially for blue collar workers

• 5 million Americans no longer on food stamps

• US economy growing almost 2x fast as when he took office

• hottest economy in the world

• unemployment: lowest rate in half a century, espec. for minorities & the disabled

• massive tax cut & ended the death tax

• no moar Obama care individual mandate penalty

• Right to Try for the very ill

• cut more regulations than any other admin.

• companies are coming back to the US

• US is not the #1 producer of oil & nat gas in the world

• 1st in 65 yrs: we are a net energy exporter

• after 24 mos, our economy is the envy of the world, our military the most powerful & America is again WINNING each and every day!

• The State of our Union is strong!

• USA chanting ("That sounds so good!")

• We added almost double the number of jobs expected

• An economic miracle is taking place: only war or investigation can stop it

• Unity at home defeats our enemies abroad

• Too many nominations are still "stuck" in the Senate; "Not right!" Unfair to these nominees

MOAR STORIES & LEGISLATIVE TRIUMPHS

• Last Congress: both parties came together to pass new legislation

• Just weeks ago, both parties united for criminal reform

• Last year, heard the story of Alice Johnson (sp?): life in prison for a first-time drug offense, became a prison minister, after 22 years, POTUS commuted her life sentence

• The First Step Act: gives first time offenders the chance to re-enter society

• Matthew Charles: first person to be released under the First Step Act ("Welcome home!")

BUILD THE WALL

• Now we must join forces again to confront a crisis: to pass a budget that secures our southern border

• Large caravans are on their way: Mexicans are being transported to areas where there is little border protection; 3000 troops on their way to protect the border

• Legal immigrants enrich our nation; we owe it to them to enact immigration reform

• "Tonight, I'm asking your to defend our very dangerous southern border"

• Wealthy politicians push for open borders while living their personal lives behind walls

• Meanwhile, working class Americans are left to pay the price for illegal immigration

• Tolerance for illegal immigation is not compassionate, it is cruel

• Women & children are especially exploited, sold into prostitution & slavery

• Illegal drugs flow into our cities, MS-13 operates in at least 20 states (almost all come thru the southern border)

• We are removing them by the thousands but they keep streaming in, as along as the border is open

• Angel families: he's gotten to know them (e.g, Deborah Bissell)(sp?), and another family

• "I will never forget…that is should never happen again"

• 266,000 arrests of criminal aliens made; ICE agent Elvin Hernandez (sp?), a legal immigrant

• Stories of cities with walls: San Diego, El Paso

• I will never abolish ICE

• In the past, a proper wall never got built. I will get it built!!

• This is a smart see-thru steel barrier in the areas of greatest need

• Walls work, walls save lives

• Let's work together to reach a deal that will keep America safe

NEW TRADE/DOMESTIC POLICIES, ADVANCES FOR WOMEN

• 58% of new jobs fhave been filled by women ("white suited" women reluctantly rise & clap; they do something, not sure what, POTUS: "You weren't supposed to do that!"

• We have more women in the workforce than ever before ("Dont sit down yet, you're going to like the next part")

• More women are serving in Congress than ever before (they actually loook happy & sort of join in chanting USA)

• We are now working on a new trade deal with China [but one that is fair)

• To built on our economic success, we must reverse bad trade policies

• No more catastrophic NAFTA; USMCA will replace it

• "I hope you can pass it into law… so we can have more 'Made in the USA' products

• Both parties should be able to unite to rebuilt our crumbling infrastructure, also to invest in the future

HEALTH CARE REFORM

• Next major priority: to lower the cost of health care & prescription drugs & to protect patients with pre-existing conditions

• Drugs prices recently experienced single largest decline in 46 years, but we must do more

• We pay much more than people in other countries for prescription drugs; "this is wrong, unfair; and together, we will stop it, we will stop it fast"

• Let's pass legislation that takes on these problems

• We should also requires drug companies, hospitals to disclose costs

• American freedom: greatest force to improve the human condition

• Together, lets defeat AIDS in America & beyond

• Another fight we can all get behind: the fight against childhood cancer

• 10-year-old Grace Eli (sp?) is with Melania; every year, she's asked everyone to donate to St Jude's wo/knowing she would someday be a patient (brain cancer)("Hi Grace!")

• "Last day of chemo" poster

• Many childhood cancers haven't seen new research in decades

• Also: the time has come to pass school choice for American children

• Also, to ensure nationwide family leave for new parents (bonding time)

• NY legislation: lawmakers cheered this, but these are living, feeling beautiful babies

• Virginia govemor: would execute a baby after birth

• Asking Congress to prohibit late term abortion, babies who can feel pain in the mother's womb

• "Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life"

• Let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: all children born and unborn are made in the holy image of god

US SECURITY/MILITARY DEFENSE

• US military: we are rebuilding it & getting other nations to pay their fair share

• NATO: we have secured more than 100,000 billion dollars ("they said it couldn't be done")

• US is developing a state of the art missile defense system

• We will never apologize for advancing American interest

• Treaty with Russia re reducing missile defense; Russia broke the rules, why we are withdrawing from the INF Treaty ("we really have no choice")

• Maybe we can initiate a new agreement, or not, if not, we can out-innovate others by far

• We push for peace on Korean peninsula

• If I had not been elected President, we would right now be in a major war with North Korea

• Chairman Kim and I will meet on Feb 27-28 in Vietnam

• Two weeks ago, we recognized the legitimate president of Venezuela and its new president

• We stand with the people in their quest for freedom and against Maduro

• Here in the US, we are alarmed by the new calls to adopt socialism in our country

• We were formed on liberty and independence; "we were born free and we will stay free!"

• Tonight we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country!"

MIDDLE EAST & WWII HISTORY

• Our policy is based on realism; for this reason, we opened the embassy in Jerusalem

• Our brave troops have been the the Middle East for 19 years; many deaths and injuries, more than 7 trillion dollars spent there

• "Great nations do not fight endless wars"

• ISIS: we have liberated all of the territory from them; now we work with our Allies to destroy their remnants

• Have accelerated our negotiations to reach a settlement in Afghanistan

• Bravery of our troops: enables us to pursue a resolution to this long and blood conflict

• Afghanistan talks are being held, including with the Taliban

• Next focus is on counter-terrorism

• After 2 decades, the hour has come to at least try for peace; "It's time"

• Friend and foe alike must know that [we will defend the nation]

• USS Cole attack: we will always remember the heroes of the USS Cole

• We have confronted the leading sponsor of terror: Iran

• To ensure they never get nuclear weapons, he withdrew the US from the "disastrous" nuclear deal

• Last fall, imposed toughest sanctions ever imposed; will not tolerate a country that chants death to America & genocide of Israel

WWII TO PRESENT

• We must confront this hatred wherever it occurs (refers to Tree of Life synagogue massacre)

• Congratulates to Officer Timothy Madsen (sp?), who confronted the gunman although seriously wounded; also another man Judah (last name?) who is a Holocaust survivor; today is his 81st birthday (all sing Happy Birthday, Thank you, "They wouldn't do that for me", laughs)

• Train story: "It's the Americans, it's the Americans"

• Joshua Kaufmann (sp?): remembers being liberated by Americans, as well

• Of the 3 soldiers who was at Normandy, one of them helped liberate Dachau

• Now Herman & Joshua are seating side by side in the gallery

• DDAy: Why did they do it?

• Here tonight we have legislators from all the states [POTUS was much more poetic]

• What will we do with this moment? How will we be remembered?….Look at the opportunities before us.

• We have not yet begun to dream….Can we transcend our differences?
