Most of us are just ordinary folks without any high-ranking "sources." Thus most of us cannot do source-based "journalism." We can write and repeat some known facts, and we who have been doing that for years have been called "conspiracy theorists."
I would like to think that President Trump will use 2019 as the year of disclosure. I would like to think that he will disclose many official secrets. However, my understanding of the disclosure process is that every government agency that is involved must sign off before the public actually gets the documents.
Suppose the FBI is hostile to the White Hats. Then even if the President declassifies documents that would embarrass the FBI, my understanding is that the FBI leaders can keep those documents secret, and prevent disclosure to the public. But perhaps the White Hats could start declassification and then agitate among the people who have security clearances.
Another complicating factor is the claim (from Greg Rubini) that the 17 intelligence agencies will be streamlined and downsized to just 4 intelligence agencies. I don't take that at face value, but it's an interesting speculation.
