By supporting Saddam Hussein and the Taliban, Huawei was going against GWB's "Global War on Terrorism" plan which was supported by Obama too. Also Obama's 2008 opponent, Noname.

But not surprisingly, that strategy was backward. Saddam Hussein was fighting the Iran-Iraq war against Iran. The Taliban had given Russia a lot of trouble and were also against the mullahs in Iran, for some reason I don't remember. So GWB's strategy was one of strengthening the mullahs in Iran.

Of course he didn't tell us that, but it was that.

Trump has reversed course. I think we're no longer against those enemies (Saddam Hussein is gone, too late for that) because we're now trying to oust the Iran mullah government rather than helping it.

So Huawei was breaking US law then, but now? It doesn't look so bad.

They're both 4 years older, but Trump now has 4 years in as President. And Dems have a thing against white men. I don't think Bernie will be nominated again.

It could be a nice 6 years of eye candy in the Senate. And the, um, very plain looking other Dem female senators will probably hate her.

Fine. I just listened to it. It doesn't hurt Trump at all. There's a bit of disapproval from the Times publisher against Trump, but he doesn't have anything other than his personal opinion of general unease with Trump.

Not sure why Haberman is going with this again.
