The Virginia leadership scandal is interesting. For dems to remain in power, the have to manipulate the timing of who steps down when. That is why we have a slow down in calls to resign. Their problem is they don't have control of the Gov. He doesn't want to be labeled a racist and he is causing a huge problem. They need the AG to step down 1st to elevate the black dem female and then simultaneous resignations for gov and lt gov. Not sure how they can pull that off because 1 would be recorded before the other and that would screw up their plan. The president pro tempore takes the place of the lt gov as soon as he steps down or rises to a new seat. That person is a republican. This is a very interesting game of musical chairs that we are seeing happen.

Harris must believe that getting rid of the LT. Gov 1st is the best way for dems to keep power. The constitution requires the President Pro Tempore to take his place. They can then call for special elections for a permanent fill of the job or keep the Pro Tempore. In this case they would want to hold elections because it is a republican. But they would have to convince the black voters to vote dem again while still having to leaders who admitted to black face. I cant wait to see how this plays out.
