I know this is a very late commentary on the SOTU, but just reading about how the Dem women dressing in white was in honor of the suffragettes or some such nonsense. Then it hit me, the Republican Party was the party who supported women's suffrage at the time that it made a difference, not the Democrat party. Just as the Democrats take credit for black civil rights when that was a vast majority Republican supported historical fact, they do the same with women's voting rights.

Always a little late for the party, aren't they?
