Late term abortion is murder. Birth defects also happen, yes. Most issues are detected early, so a swift decision can be made.
Nobody likes to have adult versions of these conversations, sure. Even fewer like to admit that "abortion" can be a medically acceptable thing to do, when you want to take into consideration the woupd-be child's quality of life. If you are going to drive that point, though, you're going to need to bring some statistics, facts about specific defects, and maybe just a smidge of heartfelt honesty about your views of quality of life.
