All of which is an admittedly long-winded way of bringing us back to today, when entrepreneur, digital giant, union-phobe, and otherwise-super-boring dude Jeff Bezos posted a lengthy Medium screed that contains semi-lurid descriptions of his semi-erect penis. (We realize that this story has been going on long enough that you might have forgotten that Bezos’ bozack was its primary subject; we apologize for the sudden shock.) In the post, Bezos claims that Pecker’s people—stop giggling, please, we still have a long way to go here—recently contacted him to let him know that they also had compromising pictures of him, in addition to the texts, and were essentially threatening him with their publication if he didn’t back off of his investigation into their information-gathering methods. Despite being threatened with photos with descriptions of him “wearing either tight black cargo pants or shorts — and his semi-erect manhood is penetrating the zipper of said garment,” though, Bezos refused to be cowed, instead going public with the information and the implied threats himself.

Several vehicles loaded with food and medicines rumbled into a collection center on the Colombian side of the Tienditas border bridge, which remains blocked by Venezuelan troops.

President Nicolas Maduro has refused foreign aid shipments, saying they would open the way for US military intervention to depose him.

His opposition rival Juan Guaido says up to 300,000 are in danger of death in the crisis-torn country for want of humanitarian assistance.

The convoy, which departed the day before from the city of Bucaramanga in northeastern Colombia, was cheered on its arrival by a group of Venezuelan migrants in Tienditas.

Venezuela’s disputed and embattled president, Nicolas Maduro, is so fearful of his own people that he has called on Cuban guards to serve as his security detail, a top U.S. military official said.

Navy Adm. Craig S. Faller, commander of U.S. Southern Command, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that Maduro, fearing for his own safety, has “completely surround[ed]” himself with Cuban security. “I think it’s a good sense of where the loyalty of the Venezuelan people are, that his immediate security force is made up of Cubans,” Faller told the committee.
