National Enquirer Denies Bezos’s Claim It Tried to Extort Him Using Salacious Pictures

The world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos, accused the National Inquirer of extortion after the tabloid allegedly offered him a deal—salacious pictures of him won’t get published if he stops accusing the Inquirer of a political hit—which the magazine denies.

On Jan. 10, the Inquirer ran an exposé on Bezos’ alleged affair with former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez, wife of Patrick Whitesell, who is co-chief executive of the large Hollywood talent agency, WME. Before publication, the magazine confronted Bezos with its findings, prompting him to announce a divorce from his wife, MacKenzie Tuttle, a novelist.

Part of the exposé were messages sent between Bezos and Sanchez, including lewd selfies of Bezos, which the tabloid partially described, but “dare not print.”

Bezos tasked his long-time security consultant, Gavin de Becker, with probing how the messages leaked. De Becker reportedly found no evidence of a hack and no evidence of Sanchez leaking the messages herself.

De Becker’s suspicion then fell on Sanchez’s brother, Michael, who denied his involvement in revealing the alleged affair, according to The Washington Post.

Finding out that Michael Sanchez is a supporter of President Donald Trump and knew two people with minor roles on the 2016 Trump campaign, de Becker told The Daily Beast that “strong leads point to political motives” behind the Enquirer story.

American Media (AMI), which owns the Enquirer, denied the claim.

“American Media emphatically rejects any assertion that its reporting was instigated, dictated or influenced in any manner by external forces, political or otherwise,” AMI’s deputy general counsel Jon Fine wrote in an email to de Becker’s lawyer, Martin Singer, which Bezos shared.

De Becker’s assertion was also based on reports that AMI Chief Executive David Pecker is a friend of Trump and even agreed to buy and kill several embarrassing stories about Trump’s alleged past affairs.

Yet there appears to be no evidence that Trump had anything to do with the Enquirer’s report on Bezos, much less that the tabloid needed political motivation to exploit personal failings of a celebrity, the richest man on Earth no less.

Lindsey Graham Calls For A Vote On The ‘Green New Deal,’ But Not Because He Supports It

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham wants Congress to put the “Green New Deal” resolution to a vote to show Americans “what kind of solutions far-left Democrats are offering to deal with climate change.”

“Let’s vote on the Green New Deal!” Graham, a Republican, tweeted Friday. “Americans deserve to see what kind of solutions far-left Democrats are offering to deal with climate change.”

Graham knows the Green New Deal would never pass Congress. In fact, Democrats aren’t united behind the bill, which moderates fear will alienate key bases of their support, including unions.

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez unveiled the Green New Deal bill Thursday, and Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey introduced a companion bill in the Senate.

The resolution calls for “10-year national mobilizations” to fighting global warming by eliminating all carbon dioxide emissions from all sectors of the economy, including the power industry, agriculture, transportation and every building.

The Green New Deal also calls for “repairing historic oppression” among certain groups and putting in place a slew of welfare programs, from universal health care to government jobs guarantees.

“So really the heart of the Green New Deal is about social justice and it’s about allowing and fighting for things like fully funded pensions for coal miners in West Virginia, fighting for clean water in Flint, and fighting for the ability of indigenous peoples to take a leadership role in, in where we’re moving as a country,” Ocasio-Cortez told NPR Thursday.

Democratic 2020 presidential hopefuls cosponsored the resolution, and it’s largely been seen as a litmus test for candidates seeking the Democratic nomination. However, House Democratic leadership panned the bill and Republicans see it as a boon to their re-election prospects.

“Every Republican in the country should get on their hands and knees and thank Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” Andy Surabian, a former White House official, told Axios.

Graham’s comments reflect that optimism. Republicans cast the bill as “socialist” because of its unprecedented expansion of government control.

Bangkok: Is Salinas involved in funding the Vanguard Defense?

I think Shadow State is wrong about Sara Bronfman. I disagree with his assessment that Sara Bronfman has more of a reason not to fund these lawyers than Salinas.

Look, every potential benefactor has a “public relations” reason NOT to donate money to any NXIVM defense attorneys since nobody wants the bad publicity associated with publicly supporting alleged sex slavers.

This includes EVERY BENEFACTOR, including Salinas and Sara Bronfman.

In fact, if Frank Parlato is to be believed, it was Salinas’ friend, Carlos Slim, who arranged a meeting between his own guy (Marco Lopez) and Bill Clinton to attempt an ‘intervention’ to ensure that his son Emi is not indicted.

Let’s not forget, his own daughter-in-law (that bitch actress) put her Albany home on the market immediately after the bad publicity started, thus ABANDONING her Vanguard when things got tough. Emi is also keeping a low profile and not standing by his Vanguard, hoping not to be indicted.

The Salinas family has ABANDONED NXIVM already. They have no future in NXIVM. NXIVM is as toxic as nuclear waste.

So WHY THE FUCK would Salinas jeopardize his son’s future — and his own family name — by funding these alleged sex slavers at a time when his ENTIRE family is already taking steps to DISTANCE themselves from NXIVM? It makes no sense.

Salinas doesn’t need NXIVM. His son will NEVER again be associated with NXIVM. His bitch daughter-in-law already sold her home and will probably never return to Albany ever again. Emi and Betancourt don’t need NXIVM to poke each other’s buttholes if they wish to do that.
