Job 33:19-28
Man is also chastened with pain on his bed, and with enduring pain in all of his bones, so that his life loathes bread, and his soul succulent food. His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones that were not seen now stick out. His soul draws near to destruction, and his life to the ones who put to death. If there be for him a messenger, a mediator, one among a thousand to show man his uprightness, then he shall have mercy on him saying, 'Deliver him from descending into destruction, I have found a ransom.' His flesh shall be renewed as a child's, he returns to the days of his youth. He prays to God, and he will delight in him, and he will see his face and rejoice, for he shall render unto man his righteousness. He will say to men, 'I sinned, and what was upright I caused to be depraved, but he has not repaid me what I deserved, for he ransomed my soul from ruin; my life beholds the light.
