I've recently made my first steps on this journey. Which bible would you recommend? I thought the KJB was pretty close to the old testament, at least compared to other ones. I'm looking for a version as close to God's word as possible, without unnecessary interference.

ThankQ, fren.

No need to snap, Anon. And no, I'm not keen on learning greek or hebrew. 10 years of latin was enough of a dead language for a lifetime.

I almost purchased the KJB recently, because a lot of people echoe what you said: That it's probably the best english version of a bible you could buy.

So please bare with me. I'm a Religion newfag and was simply trying to find out which bible to get.

Thx, Anons. Should be enough input to get going.

I'll probably get a KJV and some sort of literal translation to start with.

The story thing isn't for me. Sounds a bit like religion for dummies. Anarcho-christian? Not sure about that either, although the general concept of anarchy isn't that bad. What people think it is, is bad. In the context of religion, however…

A few months ago, when digging for some nasty stuff, I've literally felt something like divine love in my heart, trying to take the pain away from me. One of the most, if not THE most intensive feeling I've ever felt. I hope that doesn't sound silly.
