Jonathon Albright DIGG #2: concerned about "hyper-partisan" conservatives on YT & Instagram
2-7-19
Alabama election meddling Digg continues.....
''This series speaks directly the the exposure of fake news initiated in Drop 2635 & discussed again today in Drop 2678'' (see >>5102624 PB Q-Drop 2678: "Muh Russia" narrative rests on four BIG LIES from the MSM ).
Columbia's TOW Center and its lead "researcher", Jonathan Albright, have cropped up more than once on this board. The first time, it is was in connection with WaPo's bigl hit piece on Q, "Hateful conspiracies" (see below). TOW is one of the four "research" groups used to promote the idea that online conservative forums such as QResearch are "hateful" and "conspiratorial."
Albright thinks social media "traps" people they need "help" escape from. What kind of trap? The kind set by "hyper-partisan" conservative media "that spread unraliable[and poorly-sourced information." Like many libtards, he seems to accept the Russian bot narrative, but is more interested in the ways that platforms like YT use algorithms & monetization to 'encourage the production and promotion and spread of disinformation." [Tell that to all the YTubers who have been getting de-monetized over the last couple of years....]
Albright has been very "depressed" since the 2016 election, because "nothing has gotten better, despite all of the money, all of the PR, all of the research."
[WINNING, ANONS!!!]
Now he wants to use social psychology to understand how people get "engaged" with ideas he sees as dangerous: "There's no protection for Americans or researchers right now" [obviously because thinking for ourselves cannot be allowed].

Albright's name came up a second time because he is one of the three authors of The Tactics & Tropes of the Internet Research Agency, a report submitted on Dec. 17, 2018 to the SSCI (see CAPP). Most likely, his part was the section on Instagram, because he believes that Instagram is more influential than either Twitter or FB. (Table 3 on p 32 of the report DOES show bigger numbers for Instagram response but since there is no real Methods section in the report, it's impossible to know whether these numbers mean anything at all.)

In an article that came out the same day as Tactics & Tropes..., Sam Thielman of TOW reports Albright saying that despite Twitter's showing, "Instagram still won," because it attracts more engagement from users...."The New Knowledge report carves into stone much of what has been reported and remored about the Russian military's attach on the 2016 election. [NOT TRUE; bad science; see >>4949614 PB].

Two days later, on Dec. 19, the NYT broke the story of New Knowledge's involvement in Alabama election meddling. Result: the SSCI report lost all credibility. Score 1 for our side.
''But we're not finished with TOW just yet, anons. CALL FOR A DIGG on TOW & the Columbia School of Journalism. Likely the origin (and still the HUB) of all progressive journalism in the nation but we need more sauce to nail this down.''
