Highly doubt it, was discussing this with a fren last night. Khashoggi recently wrote a positive op-ed about the prince praising his efforts for enabling women to get their own drivers licenses and encouraging him to do more.
"Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman deserves consider credit for bringing the matter to a close the right way. While previous leaders were reluctant to take up the issue, he faced it head-on and did the right thing for Saudi Arabia."

Doesn't seem like extremely harsh criticism, but I need to dig more on his writing. More like the old guard was pissed at their ally and afraid of what he might reveal if he flipped.
