I think anons have this somewhat confused.
It isn't the numbers that call the events, it is the events that call the numbers. When x happens, we know where we are at in the countdown order.
There may be some things that line up with a hours-to-days translation, but I think that is just trying to set up a date with Q. Everyone likes to try and think they have landed a date with Q, but Q does Q things to leave anons hanging around outside the theater because they got the wrong idea about the note left in their locker.
The map is a sequence. It is the mission timer, so to speak, but I don't think events on it are all necessarily bound to a specific time in the chronographic sense.
