Your mention of a concert in a masonic temple made remember a dig started a while back. It didn't seem to go anywhere useful so wasn't posted, but maybe another Anon would find something to pursue:
CLEVELAND, Ohio – After nearly a century of stewardship, the Scottish Rite Masons have sold Cleveland's Masonic Temple and Performing Arts Center on Euclid Avenue to a private developer.
An affiliate of Arkansas-based Beaty Capital Group, Inc., paid $725,000 for the historic complex on March 31, property records show. The 102,000-square-foot building, with a 2,200-seat auditorium known for its acoustics, still serves as an event space, concert venue and home base for Masonic and cultural groups.
Construction began on the Masonic Auditorium in 1918, and was built by the Scottish Rite bodies and the Shrine (composed of 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Masons or Knights Templar). Since opening in 1921, the building has been in continuous operations and served as the central facility for Cleveland area Masons.
Beaty Capital Group targets historic buildings in secondary and tertiary markets, according to the company's website. The company is renovating an old Masonic temple in Fort Smith, Arkansas, as an event space called Temple Live. At 53,000 square feet, that project is half the size of the building in Cleveland.
Arkansas always means spoopy to me.
