An email made public through the organization WikiLeaks suggests that a company controlled in part by the family of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapons mastermind donated to the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative before a different company controlled by the same family was awarded a 35-year no-bid lease to Port Canaveral’s cargo container terminal.

The Treasury Department declined to perform a mandatory national security check before awarding a 35-year lease at the port to Gulftainer’s GT USA. That the company, linked to the family of Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar, now controls Port Canaveral’s cargo container terminal operations presents a significant national security risk, observers note.

On October 24, 2016, WikiLeaks released an email, dated August 18, 2012, from the Clinton Foundation to former President Bill Clinton, advising the former President that “new sponsor” The Abraaj Capital Group agreed to support the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting with a $550,000 donation.

The Abraaj Group is a UAE private equity company co-founded by Hamid Jafar, the Iraqi business partner and brother of Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar. Hamid Jafar’s son, Badr Jafar, is currently listed as a member of Abraaj’s board of directors.

The same year as the donation revealed in the Wikileaks email, the State Department’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) awarded The Abraaj Group with the first of hundreds of millions of dollars in loans and investment management contracts.

Another corporation, Crescent Petroleum, also appears to have financially supported an educational campaign co-chaired by former President Bill Clinton and Dr. Jafar’s nephew Majid Jafar, CEO of Crescent Petroleum. Gulftainer is a subsidiary of Crescent.

Shortly before the signing ceremony for Gulftainer’s new Port Canaveral cargo container terminal, Bill Clinton flew to Dubai to attend one of the educational campaign’s events with Majid Jafar.

What about the Varkey Foundation and its GEMS education initiative, which paid Bill Clinton more than $56 million to serve as front man for a gigantic fund-raising scheme? “Upon funding and implementation, these commitments will have a total value of over $70 billion,” the foundation website boasts.

Are they waiting for Mrs. Clinton to be sworn into office before those “commitments” can be banked? Are donors expecting future favors from a Clinton administration in return for their money? I can’t imagine Congress not wanting to know answers to those questions.

I'll wager Varkey was the front to help bypass the CFIUS review with State?

70billion is a lot to pass up.

Abraaj Capital, through The Abraaj Group, is one of Crescent Enterprises’ “private equity holdings,” report Jones and Fanning. “Wahid Hamid, who attended Occidental College in Los Angeles as a wealthy Pakistani foreign student, was one of Barack Obama’s college roommates, and became one of Obama’s lifelong friends, is a Partner at The Abraaj Group,” they write. “Abraaj’s Senior Partner Wahid Hamid of Pakistan, Mohammed Hasan Chandoo of Pakistan, and Vinai Thummalapally of India were all college roommates of Barack Obama, were all 2008 campaign bundlers for Barack Obama (each bringing in $100,000 to $200,000), and all attended Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson’s 1992 wedding.”

Thummalapally attended the 2015 grand opening of Gulftainer’s terminal at Port Canaveral, they write.

The Clintons have also benefited from their relationship with the UAE company and its leaders. Crescent Group executive Majid Jafar, Dr. Jafar’s nephew, co-chairs the “Business Backs Education” campaign with Bill Clinton. “The campaign is funded by the Varkey GEMS Foundation that paid Bill Clinton $5.6 million to serve as ‘Honorary Chairman’ and that helped raise $70 billion in commitments for the Clinton Global Initiative,” write Jones and Fanning. Abraaj Capital held a 25 percent stake in GEMS Education while Bill Clinton received money from that entity, they write.

A few familiar names from Hussein''s trip to Pakistan there.

In 2009, President Obama pushed through the controversial U.S.- UAE “123 Agreement.” The 123 Agreement launched the UAE’s nuclear program and led to the construction of four brand new reactors at the UAE’s curiously-named Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. Henry Sokolski of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center opposed the U.S. – UAE 123 Agreement, telling CNN that “once this thing gets signed, it’s a loaded gun. You can’t renegotiate it.” The U.S. – UAE’s 123 Agreement was strongly criticized by members of Congress.UAE’s Ambassador to the United States Yousef al-Otaiba attended the opening ceremony at Port Canaveral’s new Gulftainer/GT USA container terminal in June 2015. Also in attendance was Barack Obama’s college roommate SelectUSA Director Vinai Thummalapally.

Four months after the Port Canaveral ceremony Ambassador al-Otaiba phoned U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Armed Service Committee, to inform him that, in light of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal), the UAE “no longer felt bound” by the 123 Agreement’s prohibition on the UAE enriching uranium.

UAE’s decision to renege on the 123 Agreement’s prohibition on uranium enrichment coincided with a New York Times report that leaked emails divulged that Emirati company Al Mutlaq Technology purchased $100 million in weapons from North Korea, violating international sanctions. The UAE also reportedly sold drones to Russia and Egypt, again violating sanctions.

On August 31, 2016, it was revealed that Hillary Clinton, four months after leaving the State Department, sent classified information from her private server to Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin, and others in the Clinton cadre in an email that reads “Remember how after US signed 123 deal w UAE and we were in Abu Daibi and [remainder of message REDACTED].” The subject line of the email references a New York Times article about fraudulent safety certificates for components at four new reactors in South Korea. South Korea’s state-owned Korea Electric Power Corporation is building the Barakah reactors.

So what else was in that redacted email HRC sent about UAE123 which appeas to tie into this mess?
