The amount of vacant homes in the United States is six times the amount of individuals without a place to sleep at night.

There are roughly 18.6 Million vacant homes in the United States, while there are an estimated 3.5 Million Americans who experience homelessness. 40,000 of those Americans who experience homelessness are United States military veterans. This comparison of numbers of vacant homes and the homeless population over the last ten years makes a bleak statement about housing inequality.

The Myth of the US “Knocking the Hell Out of ISIS” in Syria

ISIS is a US creation. So are al-Qaeda, its al-Nusra offshoot, and other terrorist groups – used by the Pentagon and CIA as proxy troops.

Trump claiming “(w)e’re knocking the hell out of ISIS…We have defeated ISIS in Syria” are Big Lies. Earlier he boasted that he “know(s) more about #ISIS than generals do…”

Days after his December pullout announcement, he claimed “ISIS is largely defeated.” In January, he said we are “continuing to fight ISIS.” After promising to “rapidly withdraw from Syria” in December, he U-turned saying a pullout “could leave American forces there for months or even years.”

Some inconvenient facts Trump, his geopolitical team, and US media do not wish to acknowledge are as follows:

The US and its imperial partners support the scourge of ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups they pretend to oppose.

Syria and Hezbollah forces, greatly aided by Russian airpower alone, are “knocking the hell out of ISIS,” its ranks greatly diminished but not defeated.

Turkey’s Erdogan pretends to oppose the scourge he actively supports, giving ISIS and other terrorists safe haven in the country’s territory, letting them move freely back and forth cross border.

On Wednesday, sources quoted by Sputnik News’ Arabic-language website said around 1,500 terrorists entered Syria’s Idlib province from Turkey in the last 48 hours – a flagrant Sochi agreement violation.

Erdogan is a tinpot despot, never to be trusted, an obstacle to conflict resolution in Syria, an enemy of Bashar al-Assad, wanting him toppled, wanting Syrian territory bordering Turkey annexed, mainly its oil-rich areas.

He lied to Vladimir Putin, breaching the Russian/Turkish northern Idlib province demilitarized zone agreement.

It remains a hotbed of US/NATO/Saudi/Israeli/Turkish supported terrorists. Nearly five months after Erdogan promised to disarm them, they’re more heavily armed and entrenched than earlier – using their positions to attack government forces and civilians.

Venezuelan Supreme Court says Guaido’s interim presidency is illegitimate

CARACAS – A Venezuelan Supreme Court justice says the constitution does not include language for forming a transitional government as opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido claims.

Justice Juan Mendoza read a statement Friday on state TV saying that steps Guaido has taken are therefore null.

Guaido in late January declared that he had a constitutional right to assume the presidency, vowing to oust President Nicolas Maduro and restore democracy.

Justice Mendoza says Guaido is usurping presidential powers.

The pro-Maduro Supreme Court has already barred Guaido from leaving the country and frozen his bank accounts while prosecutors investigate what they call his anti-government activities.

Gitmo Rebirth: Trump Must Spend Lavishly to Fix Deteriorating Facility - Report

Gitmo, a name of shame on the human rights record of the US, is back with demands for big improvements and a bigger budget, thanks to the Trump administration.

Those in charge of the Guantanamo Bay US Navy detention facility, AKA ‘Gitmo' — the notorious US prison on Cuban soil that still famously houses those accused by America of terrorism — are seeking hundreds of millions of dollars for structural and logistical upgrades as the administration of US President Donald Trump proposes repopulating the deadly jail with Daesh members for another quarter of a century, according to reports.

After pledging to close the detention facility in 2008, US President Barack Obama found his administration stonewalled, resorting only to noting the well-documented mistreatment of prisoners, many of whom were held without trial or without even being charged for any crime.

Candidate Trump in 2016 promised to reverse the policy of closing Gitmo, offering instead a plan to improve and expand the notorious prison, according to Stripes.com.

Currently Gitmo is planned to remain open indefinitely, while the Trump administration — promising to pull US troops out of the Syrian civil war by April — considers incarcerating in Cuba those members of Daesh currently held in Syria by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, as noted in an earlier Sputnik News report.

The facilities at Gitmo, however, are falling apart. With an influx of new detainees expected, a lot more guards and staff — who need housing and other facilities — will be required to watch them. Gitmo officials have put the word out: they need a lot of US-taxpayer money to keep the brutal prison in functioning order.
