Blessings, baker, grateful thanks. Wish I could stick around to at least collect notables. Cannot, beyond exhausted, also the weather is not cooperating, big storms/problems. PRAYER: the last option, that I can do.

Beloved friends, must go shovel snow.

Plz, is there someone who can grab notables?

This would help any would-be baker so much. I did it recently and a newbie baker managed to do an e-bake later.

Dialectica: an unknown actor in the 2017 Alabama Election

2-11-2019,'Muh Russia" Alabama Dig, con't.

Dialectica was one of two lesser-known companies involved in Alabama election meddling in 2017 (the other was TOVO Labs). https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/07/us/politics/alabama-senate-facebook-roy-moore.html

General info

* Founded in 2014 in Berkeley, CA

* 3 or 4 founders: Jason Venner (funder), Joohn Choe, Jennifer Georgevich, John Campos (funder)

* What do they do? See Mission Stmt below. Confusing, but mentions a it mentions a "debate flow chart" app [a meme-maker?]

* One of the four companies''' involved in securing the win for Doug Jones in Alabama

* A pitch to potential customers from Dialectica offers โ€œa new generation of information weaponsโ€ to battle โ€œfake news.โ€ A marketing email shared with The Times says the company worked in the Alabama raceโ€™s โ€œmeme warโ€ for at least three months.'''

Mission Statement

Dialectica is real-time collaborative flowchart chat, the first of its kind in the world. Our mission is to improve the world of public debate by democratizing its debate ata. Our debate flow app [meme-maker] is based on a traditional and instantly recognizable style of note-taking, the debate flow [ = MEME].

Joohn Choe

  • Key figure; CEO?? Hard to tell

  • Says that prior to Trump becoming President, he focused on "evidence technologies for academic discourse," but is now part of the resistance (thinks the Presidency is not "compromised").

  • Thinks The best path of resistance to disinformation propagated by two different national governments was to build a "community" [hard to tell what "community" really means; could be something like communist cells, although not at this stage]

  • Developed a meme-making tool for FB; how does it work? Hard to tell, info use such obscure language (see below & CAPP for examples of lackluster memes)

  • Despite community-oriented rhetoric , often speaks in military terms in articles and follows the hawkish Alliance for Securing Democracy and sometimes quotes them in his articles [who is this guy, anyways??]

  • Prolific writer, a serious, political-type writer; wrote of the Resistance Warfare Handbook, a lengthy and detailed set of articles on how to wage information warfare [against the Right] published in medium (see >>5011570 PB).

  • One article specifically focuses on what Dialectica did in the Alabama Senate Race (see below and CAPP)

https://medium.com/@joohnchoe/notes-on-success-and-failure-in-information-war-counter-measure-memes-5f18f605e2df

Involvement in Alabama Senate Race (from report below; see also CAPP)

  • Choe: saw Alabama as backward & impoverished: "From a military human-terrain perspective, Alabama bears structural resemblances to Afghanistan; evangelical Republicans are the Taliban, regional churches are the tribes, and the scandal-plagued governmentship is the ineffectual government"

  • Framed his work during the election as some sort of liberation movement

  • Used a "maximally deniable, quiet" approach to effect "a series of strategic social media 'interventions' using tactical or weaponized memes based on factual information; this was seen as some kind of antidote for fake news"

  • Pretty detailed account of the weeks leading up to the election

  • Believes his FB memes positively affected the outcome of the election (mostly measured in terms of voter registration numbers)

Blessings, friend. Will keep checking notables.

Was shoveling snowโ€“more snow than in years. and just came to check in for a sec, and you posted.

Probably not foremost in your mind, but would like to do a thread for all Alabama/muh Russia-rlated digs, I can probably set it up (I have a thread on patriot's awoken to do formatting tryouts). The only easy thing to do on 8chan.

another proposed notable:

>>5119733 "Psych 101 connections"

anon is trying to tie in new Q with psych 101

but not sure that helps without a theory or data or both

โ€”โ€”

I think I will set up the bread and gather links, etc. It will be here when you return. if you have any ideas before you have to go, let me know

Plz focus on your returnโ€“or on other positive events if that is not possible. Do not allow yourself be dragged down by the intensity of the crisis. BFF who now has nice house etc was living in a car at one time and mom wouldn't even help (that's really LOW) but they made it thru, good life now). I will be around if you wish to talk, you know when I post, but you can ID me also I'll check.

The person posting may have knowledge that I lack (re numerology or time or something). But it would still be good if they were to lay it out a little. People often present data in graphics (for example) like "look, there it is!"

And sometimes, others see exactly what they are talking aboutโ€“those who think visually.

but if you include both visual and verbal explanation, it helps. Sometimes it's frustrating to be asked because it's hard to translate, I get it. But this is the process of negotiating a communication and tryingโ€“to the extent possibleโ€“to clearly communicate your ideas with as many anons as possible.

That's the part that can be hard to ascertain, however. I told Baker I would help out by checking bread for notables. What would you recommend in my place if you had no background and weren't sure what the person was trying to say? Doesn't asking for a 1-2 sentence explanation make sense? (not trying to give you or anyone a hard time, but it just seems like common sense to me)

We are fam but it's an interesting question. Law-fags are asked to identify for obvious reasons. Most others not. Every so often, it's useful to know. A sensitive topic, I think, only because credentials are basically weaponized in modern culture. They are one of the things used to divide people. And that's stupid. Being a mom is the most important job on the planet. And there's no credential for that.

That's not true, just ask the parents and grandparents who are defying the system by educating themselves, talking to their kids, and putting them out when necessary. Schools suck but creative thinking and prayer is a good combo for overcoming.

It's a challenge to have a good conversation. If you avoid all the difficult topics, then it's boring. If you discuss difficult topics, people often start to fight. I agree exactly that always coming back to faith, hope, and love will keep us on track. Blessings to all.

Well, people spar a lot on a board like this. And sometimes, there are miscommunications, as well. Liberals think you have to be namby-pamby at all times to avoid hurt feelings. But telling someone off for a good reason (or what seems like a good reason!) can also be a form of respect, like saying, "look i respect you enough to tell you exactly what I think, not to pretend."

And then there are other times when a certain delicacy is called for. Just depends.

I make lots of mistakes and often end up praying for more discernment in the endโ€“and also thinking hard about how to cultivate it. Every interaction gives a chance to learn.
