Have you forgotten that firing RR was declared a red line by the left? Activists ready to take to the streets rioting if it happened? We already saw them send out calls for action when they thought he was about to be fired - twice if memory serves me right. Why would we want to do that if it's avoidable?

Baiting the hook, as you said, could be the answer. I was just looking over his Wiki…did you known that after graduating from Harvard, he did his internship with Mueller? Also that he worked under Ken Starr for the Whitewater investigation. Interesting history he has.
