Nancy Pelosi (who is partying it up at the Grammys tonight) has scheduled another one week vacation to begin, February 15th, aka shut down day if no agreement is reached on border security and government funding. It’s not like the Republicans were workaholics when they had control of the House, but this is getting beyond parody. Another one week vacation for the lazy bastards in the House? They make $174,000 each, yet seem to get more vacation time than actual work time.

The US Army has invented a new grenade in the 40 mm configuration that is packed with a net and specifically designed to take out enemy drones.
The weapon, which was developed by Army engineers at the Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) in New Jersey, can be launched from the standard grenade launchers regularly used by the US military and law enforcement.

There was no desire to right any wrongs—no desire to seek positive change and create a better life. The entire impetus behind his campaign was due to the the notion that he thought he could win. I thought to myself at the time that surely this man was an anomaly and most other politicians must be motivated by some selfless concern for the well-being of others, otherwise known as altruism. But I was dead wrong.

China ‘ship-killer’ missile at ready as US destroyers sail by disputed Spratly Islands again
Two U.S. warships conducted operations in the South China Sea that again raised the ire of China, who deployed missiles capable of reaching the region just last month.
USS Spruance and USS Preble conducted a Freedom of Navigation operation (FONOP) in the contested waters, during which they traveled within 12 nautical miles of the Spratly Islands late Sunday night, the first time after China deployed ship-killing missiles in January, according to CNN on Monday.
In January, the USS McCampbell traveled near the Paracel Islands, coming within 12 nautical miles of its coast. PLA Navy ships responded to the USS McCampbell to identify it and issue a warning to leave.
Chinese officials called the first incident a “provocation” by the U.S., and a violation of both Chinese and international laws.
“The Chinese side firmly opposes the relevant action by the U.S. side and urges the U.S. to immediately stop such provocations,” Lu Kang, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, said in January. “We will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard our national sovereignty and security.”

Fleeing Daesh terrorists resort to dressing as women to evade capture in eastern Syria
Daesh fighters are resorting to increasingly desperate measures to disguise themselves in an attempt to escape Kurdish fighters in southeast Syria, an unnamed YPG commander has told the Daily Star.
“You think of it, they do it,” the commander said.
“It’s crazy right now, they’re really desperate. They are trying to blend in because there are so many [civilians],” he added.
Earlier, the Syrian Democratic Forces, the umbrella organisation which includes the YPG, reported that over 20,000 civilians had fled the area in recent days amid the battle between terrorists and the militia.

Mad woman sentenced for ‘racist attack’ on Swedish nationalist politician
A 55-year-old woman has been sentenced for harassment after yelling at a Sweden Democrats (SD) politician that he is a racist.
On 23 May last year the Sweden Democrats Municipal Councillor got on a bus together with his partner in Västerås.
On the bus was a relative of the man whom he had not been in contact with for many years, but who now recognised him.
“Is that you, you fucking idiot”, said the woman when she discovered who was sitting next to her.
The woman was very upset, it was “like waking a pit bull” according to the man. She yelled to the other passengers that the man was a Sweden Democrat and a racist. She repeated this time and again, 20-40 times, without letting the man get a word in edgewise
