I support requiring PROOF if making specific claims of cure/treatment with products, BUT NOT additional regulation.
The research and testing regulations are prohibitive to some natural product sellers, but can understand the risk of (for example) selling something claiming to be oregano oil capsules and they are in reality filled with corn oil.
So, i could understand having consequences for sellers that overtly deceive or fill capsules with known harmful materials.
CONSIDER THIS:
there is scientific research that correlates Saccharin with Cancer. therefore, FDA requires a warning on products containing this. BUT THEY STILL SELL THEM.
Caveat emptor
the rules for vitamins/herbs/supplements, should only extend to: does the product CONTAIN what it is labelled.
