How would the late, great lead guitarist from Molly Hatchet know this??
>The game continues, they need a reason to raise rates, and that can only mean inflation.
>Question: How would this inflation occur manually?
>Answer: Through what is known as a Supply Shock.
Good reasoning that I agree on most of it, but the immediate effect is the increase in the cost of financing the debt as that weakens the dollar on world markets before inflation hits domestically.
To be honest, I don't remember Ike, but your point is valid. However, I see those spikes as pre-emptive corporate moves to maximize anticipated revenue losses, artificially induced. The point of securing energy conduits is no doubt a legitimate concern. What is more bothersome is how the US dollar is the world currency reserve going back to WWii and is horribly outdated.
