UKanon. This isn't really notable. A couple of months ago Theresa May gave her word to the Conservative Party that she would not stand as leader in the next General Election. She lost seats to Labor in the last one. She is there to get Brexit over the line, take the hits and then stand down. Quite a lot of center right Conservatives (Tory wets) hate Boris Johnson. When she stands down the following procedure takes place:

MPs have to be nominated by at least 2 other MPs. There will be about 5 or 6 at this stage. The numbers are whittled down to 2. If one of the two is incredibly popular then they get elected as Leader of the Conservative Party and become the Prime Minister. If the 2 competitors are close then they make a speech to the Conservative Party conference in October and the person with the most votes becomes leader and the Prime Minister.
