When Donin asked the rabbis present if the Talmud, in fact, taught Jesus Christ was burning in a cauldron of excrement in Gehenna, one rabbi responded, "there were many men named Jesus who claimed to be the messiah. Is every Louis in France king?" I believe they call that, "Chutzpah."
The rabbis eventually went silent and refused to answer Donins allegations. The Talmud was deemed heretical and thousands of copies were burned. In the years following the trial, tens of thousands of jews converted to Christianity.
