It might be nothing, it might be something to dig. The new Acting Sec Defense is a 31 year Boeing career man with no political or government service experience. He is, however, described this way in the Nation:
"So what experience does Shanahan have? He is, literally and figuratively, the embodiment of the military-industrial complex"
And now it appears, he's going after SpaceX.
Regardless of what you think of Elon Musk, he gets things into space cheaper than anyone ever thought possible. Seems like this company man is using his (revolving door) position to advantage his old company at the expense of the taxpayers.
I know we were all hoping it wouldn't be business as usual at the Pentagon under Trump, but this doesn't bode well. Discouraging and punishing competition with the heavy hand of government is a familiar theme we're tired of hearing.
This is concerning as it seems more and more that mans destiny is tied to getting off Earth. As more and more space rocks are found which can disrupt life here, it's imperative we get "out there" while we still can. This is a setback for humanity apparently to keep Boeing (and their retiree's) in the (taxpayers) money.
