There are very few sincere and exclusive Satanists. There are a lot of idiots who are willing to chant "Hail Satan" halfway as a joke.
Gnostic ideas and practices can crop up almost everywhere in Western spirituality. In many cases, later Western religions are poorly reinvented versions of earlier ideas such as Zoroastrianism.
Don't worry too much about such things. A guy who says "Hail Satan" but doesn't eat human babies is much less important than a guy who doesn't say "Hail Satan" but eats human babies.

Let me take a moment to explain how much I love Jews. I love all Jews, regardless of their sins, because I love the sinners even while I hate the sins. But in particular, I recognize that some Jews have done a lot of good. Let me start with Jews who were persecuted by their fellow Jews. Baruch Spinoza. Benjamin Freedman. Israel Shahak. These Jews all spoke out against wrongdoing by Jews. The Jews persecuted them for their honesty - but we can love the sinners even though we hate the sin of unjust persecution!
Some Jews are noteworthy even though it is too soon to write their biographies. Jews like Shlomo Sand, Seth Rich, Mordechai Vanunu will probably be remembered by posterity as having struggled against the worst tendencies of Jewry. Some Jews are noteworthy because their actions will have great impact; for example, Inspector General Michael Horowitz has various opportunities to uncover wrongdoing by various psychopaths; if Horowitz uses his opportunity for the good of the community, history will doubtless remember his contribution.
But if I criticize the usury of the Rothschilds and Warburgs and Schiffs, if I criticize the banditry of the Irgun and the Mossad, if I criticize Meyer Lansky and Julius Rosenberg - please note that I am not criticizing their Jewishness. I love the sinners; I hate the sins.

Most Satanists don't have enough sincerity to worship anyone or anything. Most people who participate in Satanism have severe resentment of various unfortunate events. For example, a Jew "Satanist" often just resents mainstream Christian society and plays with pseudo-Satanic ideas rather than healing his narcissism and becoming a productive member of society. A Christian child raised in an abusive but nominally Christian family might claim to be a "Satanist" rather than working through his severe psychological maladjustment. And quite a few self-proclaimed Satanists in the USA are really just psychopaths who want to exploit the loose regulations on religious fund-raising.
