Donald Trump Jr has been slammed on social media after claiming 'loser teachers' are brainwashing young Americans 'from birth' with socialism.

The president's eldest son spoke to a crowd of Trump supporters at a rally in El Paso, Texas on Monday night, encouraging young conservatives to 'keep up' the fight against leftist policies at their schools.

'Keep up that fight, bring it to your schools. You don't have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth. You don't have to do it,' Trump Jr said drawing cheers and applause from the crowd

The 41-year-old also expressed his joy over seeing young Republicans standing up for their beliefs which he said 'is not easy.'

Although he received praise at the rally, Don Jr's comments were quickly blasted on Twitter by Democrats and teachers who slammed him for criticizing 'hardworking' educators.

'Teachers do not indoctrinate kids. It's called learning. Academics, teamwork, social skills and - now - lock down drills. Not socialism, survival thru human compassion and kindness,' one Twitter user, Elizabeth Doyle said.

Several teachers, including user @kybluebird77 blasted Don Jr's comments saying: 'Hey Jr., I've been teaching for 15 years and never once have I witnessed the teaching of socialism! I have however witnessed the teaching of RESPONSIBILITY, EQUALITY, AND CIVIC DUTY, as in it's our right to vote someone in that's not a complete idiot!!'

Twitter user Brett Rose echoed those sentiments suggesting students are taught how to be socially responsible, not to subscribe to political beliefs.

Maryland software engineer sues Gov. Larry Hogan over anti-BDS law

A Maryland software engineer and former state delegate is suing his state’s governor for signing an executive order into law which targets and penalizes supporters of the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement (BDS), in what he says is a violation of his First Amendment rights.

In December 2018, Syed “Saqib” Ali, an outspoken proponent of BDS and co-founder of Maryland grassroots pro-BDS organization Freedom2Boycott, found two potentially lucrative contracts open for bidding. He intended to apply for both, judging his 20-years experience in tech would make him a formidable contender.

But due to an executive order known as “Prohibiting Discriminatory Boycotts of Israel in State Procurement”, signed into law October 2017 by Maryland’s Republican Governor Larry Hogan, the state requires Saqib to denounce BDS in order to even apply for the contracts. He would need to provide a written statement along with each submitted bid guaranteeing he is not presently, nor does he plan to engage in a boycott of Israel “and its territories” while contracted with the state.

“I want to apply for these contracts, but I’m certainly not going to sign any such pledge,” Saqib told Mondoweiss. “Certainly not.”

To add insult to injury, the governor signed the executive order after a long, drawn-out but ultimately successful campaign heralded by Freedom2Boycott and allied free speech and Palestinian solidarity organizations, to kill an anti-BDS bill introduced to the Maryland state legislature. But no sooner had activists finished celebrating this rare victory, than Hogan appeared in his office to sign the executive order, characterizing BDS as “shameful” in comments to the press. He was flanked by Jewish community leaders and members of pro-Israel donor organizations.

“He issued this executive order, which is, basically the same [as the bill activists managed to defeat]” explained Saqib, only this time “without us being able to stop it.”

Turkey orders 1,112 arrested over links to cleric Gulen - state media

Turkey launched on Tuesday one of its largest operations against alleged supporters of the U.S.-based Muslim cleric accused of leading an attempted coup in 2016, ordering the arrest of 1,112 people, state media reported.

The operation, related to alleged cheating in police examinations, showed authorities were not letting up on their crackdown two-and-a-half years after rogue soldiers used warplanes, helicopters and tanks in a bid to seize power.

More than 250 people were killed in the failed putsch, in which preacher Fethullah Gulen, a former ally of President Tayyip Erdogan, has denied involvement. Gulen has lived in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania since 1999.

Tuesday’s operation related to a police force examination in 2010 for those seeking to become deputy inspectors, and allegations that some of those taking part had received the questions in advance, state-owned Anadolu news agency reported.

So far 124 suspects have been detained in the operation launched by the Ankara chief prosecutor’s office and extending across 76 provinces, Anadolu said. It was not clear how many, if any, of the suspects were serving police officers.

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Sunday a “big operation” was looming against Gulen supporters. “Devils would not perpetrate deceptions like they have,” he said. “We will finish them off.”

The government says his network over decades infiltrated state institutions including the security forces, judiciary and ministries, often helped by cheating in exams, to create a “parallel state”.

The Israeli Lobby Is the Deep State

This week the Intercept reported on the firestorm created by Rep. Ilhan Omar when she audaciously cited the AIPAC lobby as being behind a political smear campaign against her. The Intercept reported,

“…Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., responded sharply to reports that Republican leader Kevin McCarthy was targeting both Omar and fellow Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan.

Omar quoted rap lyrics — “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” — to suggest McCarthy’s move was driven by the lobby’s prolific spending. Asked specifically who she was referring to, Omar responded, “AIPAC!” (The Intercept)

In this report they also linked to numerous undercover investigations that produced audio and video tapes of AIPAC political operatives funneling money to Israeli friendly politicians and government insiders as a means to sway national opinion. The report quotes a conversation on the tapes as follows,

“David Ochs, founder of HaLev, which helps send young people to American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference, described for the reporter how AIPAC and its donors organize fundraisers outside the official umbrella of the organization, so that the money doesn’t show up on disclosures as coming specifically from AIPAC. He describes one group that organizes fundraisers in both Washington and New York. “This is the biggest ad hoc political group, definitely the wealthiest, in D.C.,” Ochs says, adding that it has no official name, but is clearly tied to AIPAC. “It’s the AIPAC group. It makes a difference; it really, really does. It’s the best bang for your buck, and the networking is phenomenal.” (Ochs and AIPAC did not immediately return The Intercept’s requests for comment.)

Without spending money, Ochs argues, the pro-Israel lobby isn’t able to enact its agenda. “Congressmen and senators don’t do anything unless you pressure them. They kick the can down the road, unless you pressure them, and the only way to do that is with money,” he explains.” (The Intercept)

Just so we are clear, an Israeli lobbyist and AIPAC organizer stated on video that AIPAC, through shadow funding has become the biggest, wealthiest, networking group in D.C.

The influence alluded to by AIPAC in these statements should be alarming. Politicians are being bribed to be political attack dogs for Israel.

Al Mezan: Israel Claims Immunity from All Damages Inflicted on Gaza Protestors

Adalah and Al Mezan appeal to Israeli Supreme Court against lower court ruling finding that Gazans may be denied compensation for damages because Gaza is defined by law as an ‘enemy territory’.

Israeli military forces shot Palestinian high school student Attiya Nabaheen on his 15th birthday in the front yard of his family home in the Gaza Strip on 16 November 2014. Nabaheen was returning from school. He was not armed and was not involved in any violence.

As a result of the shooting, Nabaheen was paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

In November 2018, Israel’s Be’er Sheva District Court rejected a case filed by Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights on behalf of the Nabaheen family against the Israeli military for the shooting and wounding of their son. The court ruled that the state is not liable for damages because Palestinians in Gaza are not entitled to seek compensation from Israel as they live in an “enemy entity”.

According to Article 5/B-1 of Amendment No. 8 of Israel’s Civil Wrongs Law (State Responsibility) Law of 1952, which was enacted in 2012, residents of a territory declared by the Israeli government as “enemy territory” – as Gaza was declared in 2007 – are not eligible to seek compensation from Israel for any reason.

Adalah and Al Mezan appealed this ruling to the Israeli Supreme Court on 7 February 2019, arguing that the lower court’s decision and the amendment to the law violate both Israeli and international law, which require that protected civilians be entitled to effective legal remedies. The human rights organizations demand that the Supreme Court overturn the ruling of the Be’er Sheva District Court and find Amendment No. 8 unconstitutional.

The appeal was filed by Adalah Deputy Director Attorney Sawsan Zaher, Adalah General Director Hassan Jabareen, and private attorney Mohammad Jabareen.

Former Israeli spies tried to influence local US election: Report

A defunct private intelligence agency in Israel attempted to influence at least one local US election and other domestic affairs, according to a report by US media.

The company, Psy-Group, even courted President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and is now under investigation by the special counsel Robert Mueller, according to the report from The New Yorker.

Mueller is investigating alleged Russian collusion with Trump's election campaign during the 2016 US presidential election.

The company also tried to influence local elections in the US in favor of private clients, using smear campaigns and other methods including fake websites and online avatars to change the elections outcome.

Company architects

The New Yorker named Ram Ben-Barak, who was previously a deputy director of Mossad, and Yaakov Amidror, the former national security adviser to Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the agents behind its operations.

Psy-Group's owner, Joel Zamel, described by US media as an “Israeli social media expert” who specializes in "social media manipulation", is known to have founded several companies, including one offering 'honey traps' and 'deep web' capabilities.

Zamel met with Donald Trump Jr. and Erik Prince (the brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos) at Trump Tower to pitch the company's services.

Sales pitch

Psy-Group, in a one-page website that gave a Cyprus address and a slogan “Shape Reality,” offered its service for influence campaigns, boasting that they could "plant the seeds of thought in people."

The Israeli company offered clients an array of services—including “honey traps,” a term used by spy agencies for an intelligence-gathering tactic using romantic or sexual relationships to extract information.

The Israeli firm also advertised its services in the “deep web and boasted Darknet capabilities.”

"We are looking at the tip of the iceberg in terms of where this can go," a former Israeli private intelligence worker reportedly told The New Yorker.

The tactics and proposals that were reportedly employed by the group are similar to those of Cambridge Analytica's services and those of Russian hackers who allegedly infiltrated American political networks through social media during the 2016 election.

Gantz: Israel settlement of ‘strategic, security and spiritual’ value

Electoral challenger Benny Gantz has praised Israel’s illegal settlements as of being of strategic, security and spiritual value.

Head of the Israel Resilience (Hosen L’Yisrael) party Benny Gantz – who is running in the upcoming Israeli general election on 9 April – praised an illegal Israeli settlement bloc in the occupied West Bank during a visit to a primary school there on Monday, Arab 48 reported.

Visiting the Kfar Etzion Field School in the Gush Etzion settlement bloc, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, Gantz wrote in the school’s visitor book: “The [settlement] bloc was a strategic and spiritual settlement asset and will remain so forever.”

He continued by writing that “we [Israel] will strengthen the settlement blocs and the [occupied Syrian] Golan Heights, from which we will never retreat,” adding: “The Jordan Valley will remain our eastern security border. He concluded:

We will maintain security in the entire Land of Israel, but we will not allow the millions of Palestinians living beyond the separation fence to endanger our security and our identity as a Jewish state.

Leader of left-wing Israeli political party Meretz, Tamar Zandberg, criticised Gantz for his visit to the illegal settlement.

“When there is no Right and no Left, it is the Right that dictates the tone,” the Jerusalem Post reported Zandberg saying. She added: “Israel’s top strategic asset is not settlements, but achieving a peace agreement. Those who want to reach an agreement in which Israel keeps the blocs, must speak clearly about evacuating settlements instead of offering empty slogans.”

US Warplanes Attack Mosque in Eastern Syria

General accuses ISIS of using mosque for car bombs

The US-led anti-ISIS coalition has confirmed on Tuesday that they deliberately attacked a mosque in the Syrian village of Baghouz. Details on casualties were not readily available. though the coalition said it was “aware” of civilian casualty reports.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Ghika says that the mosque “lost its protected status when ISIS deliberately chose to use it as a command and control center.” Officials also accused ISIS of using the mosque to plan car bombings.

While the US often rests on the legal argument that the mosque had it coming, attacking a mosque is always hugely controversial, and doubly so when civilian casualties are reported. During the course of anti-ISIS operations, the US has attacked a number of mosques.

The US is often looking to attack ISIS targets in Baghouz, and the mosque is at least nominally such a target. Given how many US strikes are just hitting obvious civilian targets, it appears they are desperate for anything with remote ties to ISIS.

US Airstrikes in Afghanistan Highest in a Decade Amid Peace Talks

7,362 weapons dropped in strikes in 2018

Current US interest in a peace process in Afghanistan come amid a massive escalation. The US air war is continuing to pick up pace, with the number of US strikes already at their highest level in a decade.

In 2018, US officials report that 7,362 weapons were dropped on Afghanistan in various air campaigns. This is the highest number of strikes since the Pentagon started releasing figures, in 2009.

The escalation of the air war was facilitated in particular by the decline of ISIS territory in Iraq and Syria, as this freed up a lot of warplanes that were relocated further east to Afghanistan, where more targets were available.

As a practical matter though, the airstrikes have done little to help matters on the ground, as the Pentagon has consistently confirmed that Afghan forces have been losing ground. It is this growing loss that has the US looking to settle the war.

Israel prevents Palestinians from documenting Hebron settler crimes

The Israeli army has prevented Palestinian activists from documenting Israeli settlers’ crimes against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

This came after a group of Palestinian activists called Youth Against Settlement earlier this week launched a campaign to document settler violations in Hebron after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expelled the TIPH UN monitoring force that has documented Israeli crimes for 22 years, Quds Press reported yesterday.

In a statement, the activists said that settlers had already attacked them, despite the fact that they had been operating for only three days. The activists have already documented numerous violations against Hebron’s Palestinians, including attacks on Palestinian primary school pupils.

The activists said that the Israeli army expelled them from Al-Shuhada Street, which has been closed to Palestinians since 1994 when an extremist Israeli Jewish settler massacred 29 Palestinian worshippers inside the city’s Ibrahimi Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the statement, the activists – who are led by the prominent activist Issa Amro – said they would not stop documenting the Israeli violations in spite of being expelled from Al-Shuhada Street, which was declared a closed military zone.

The statement reported Amro as saying that he and his fellow activists had received life-threatening calls from the Israeli intelligence services and the Israeli Civil Administration – which administers the occupied Palestinian territories – after the creation of this group.

In a separate press release, Amro said that the Israeli settlers attacked him along with the activists and other Palestinians in the area, saying he had received a phone call from someone who spoke Hebrew and threatened to end his life.

Netanyahu: Israel and Arab states advancing common interest of combating Iran

Israel is working to oust Iran from Syria, Netanyahu said, adding, “we are obligated to do this and we will do this.”

Arab countries and Israel are talking about combating Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in Warsaw, as he filmed a shot near a skating rink for his Facebook page.

“From here I am going to a meeting with 60 foreign ministers and envoys of countries from around the world against Iran,” Netanyahu said.

“What is important about this meeting – and this meeting is not in secret, because there are many of those – is that this is an open meeting with representatives of leading Arab countries, that are sitting down together with Israel in order to advance the common interest of war with Iran.” Netanyahu said.

On the northern front, Israel is working to oust Iran from Syria, Netanyahu said.

"What we are doing is pushing and driving Iran from Syria. We are committed to doing this," he said. “It is cold in Warsaw right now but Israel's foreign relations are warming up, warming up for the better."

He spoke after his meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

The Israeli Prime Minister is in Warsaw to attend the Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East, which opens on Wednesday night and extends into Thursday.

Both US Vice President Mike Pence and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, are expected to address the ministerial meeting that includes representatives from the Arab world and the 28 nations that make up the European Union.

US envoy Jason Greenblatt, who is in Warsaw tweeted in advance of the conference that, “Iran is the primary threat to the future of regional peace/security.

“Iran is the primary threat to the future of regional peace/security,” he wrote.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Europe to distance itself from the US.
