I'm Polish and we historically had major interactions with little Tartary, which we called dzikie pole ("the wild fields"). Tartary was essentially the wild east, like the cowboys in the wild west, but a few hundred years prior and more archaic technology, instead of rifles, revolvers and tomahawks, it was old flintlock guns, swords and bows, and of course the common thing with wild west which was horses.
