interesting that Trump uses the Socratic method to start that off.

Why would A.G. Sessions ask the IG to do the investigations?

Trump then lists reasons not to do it that way.

So… I'm left with the intitial question and the thought that Trump is pointing to a damned good reason why A.G. Sessions has acted in this fashion.

IF the DOJ was involved it cannot investigate itself!

I think this is a statement by Trump that in fact the DOJ was involved in FISA abuse and therefore it is entirely inappropriate for the DOJ to investigate this matter.
