Guardsmen, getting hours.

 

Some family that live in that area. It's nice and flat, and no real obstructions. Perfect for nighttime flying for Guard guys. Nothing to run into if you maintain altitude

Unlikely and I don't think it's a good strategy.

 

Reason is, if Congress says, "You can spend on X, but not on Y", that is their Constitutional power to tax and spend. It's not the President's.

 

And that's what is in question on this spending bill.

They do have control over executive power. It's called the power of the purse. And this is a spending bill.

 

Congress doesn't have the right to tell the President certain things in how to accomplish the operation of the government, true. But they can damn sure determine what they spend money on, and don't.

 

Doesn't make me any happier either, but that's exactly how it works.
