Q SOLUTION: "The truth would put 99% of the people in the hospital."
pic related.
I had the good fortune of getting unrestricted access to PubMed for a couple of weeks a few years ago, where I did a fuckton of reading. Much of the reading was academic studies about STD's. I learned a LOT which I won't go over here, but what I will say is this: The research is VERY different than the common understanding of STDs.
Basically, everyone is walking around with HPV. HPV causes essentially ALL cervical cancer.
Add in HSV (Herpes; cure pending?), Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, etc., and you have 99% of the population (give or take a fraction of a percentage point. If you don't believe me, dig. It is true.
This calms my nerves because the intuitive response to Q's line item above makes one think of apocalyptic scenarios.
Nope. Q is just saying that there will come a time when (a) the cures for STDs (and possibly other common ailments like CANCER) will be available and that the government is likely to fund distributing them to the population. (Reasoning - the government will save a ton of money on treatment of these ailments in the low-income segment of the population.)
So there's my solution. do I get another cookie?
Fun Facts! : One of the studies I read regarding sexual behavior of people in bars who take new acquaintences home for sex: As the hour approaches 2:00am when the bar closes, your odds of going home with someone who has HSV (Herpes) literally hits 100%. Have a nice day. If you've engaged in this behavior, you are likely to have it and not know it. Around 90% of the people who have HSV do not know they have it. 90% of the rest lie. Also, have a nice day.
