I live in western Wa and I've met the guy that runs the weather station. I was one of the first to triangulate the position of the launch. I've seen plenty of choppers at night. That was not a chopper. Look at the fuckin' pic. The weather guy has been a local fixture for years. He is utterly reliable. He thought it was a missile at first and then "changed his mind". He was told/threatened to go with the chopper story by someone with some serious authority. He won't even talk about with the locals. We did a big dig on this when it happened.
