She will then participate in the Bloody Sunday March.
Members of the Selma-to-Montgomery March Foundation and the Bridge Crossing Jubilee held a press conference on Thursday at the Alabama State House to discuss Clinton’s participation in the upcoming event.
“This will be a great Jubilee with Secretary Hillary Clinton, the kickoff of the national Lift Our Vote 2020 Initiative, a number of presidential candidates coming to speak and various other powerful speakers and so many events,” said former State Sen. Hank Sanders. “It could be one of the best of the many great jubilees. The jubilee brings tens of thousands from around the country and across the world each year, and the 27th anniversary will, as well.”
Faya Rose Toure, the founder and coordinator of the Bridge Crossing Jubilee, said she and other leaders involved in the event celebrate victories in voting rights, memorialize those who died in the struggle for voting rights and prepare for the voting rights struggles ahead with the nonpartisan Lift Our Vote 2020 Initiative.
