For some reason this reminded me of the disintegration of a church I attended as a kid.
It was discovered that the preacher had been having an affair with a congregant. Of course, it sent the church into shock and panic.
After the shock wore off, the congregants sought other churches and carried on.
That is how I view all of .this.
