In 2007 before he deputy sheriff, CAIR spokesman Nezar Hamze made the Associated Press news when his cousin, Abdelaziz Hamze, ran over a woman after a hit-and-run accident and dragged her several miles before she dislodged from his minivan.He was charged with 1st-degree murder and found guilty in 2009 where his father said in court that his family were devout muslims and that Abdelaziz did not understand the word for "homicide." He was sentence to 25 1/2 years.
