Soldiers who are 21 are allowed to drink. Alcohol is physically dangerous, being technically poisonous, and alcoholism can seriously lead to liver failure. Alcohol severely impairs you from using machinery or being on call. An alcohol hangover can significantly curb your efficiency for an entire day. I am totally in support of alcohol being legal, and if you can agree to lose your life for the state, you should be allowed to lose your life to alcohol. That being said, how would marijuana be an exception to this principal? It wouldn't, and if you look at the CIA hiring requirements, they don't allow weed users in legal states to apply because weed is still "federally illegal". That's it, that's the only defense left, the fact that it's illegal. It makes no fucking sense, and this lack of reasoning within the conduct of our federal government is why recruiting numbers have been declining like all hell
