Point taken. However…..
Should I feel sorry for Wal-Mart?
Pushed out all the Mom’s and Pops and privately owned franchises?
I would hardly qualify Wal-Marts as “local” businesses.
Florida has Low Taxes and regulation yet barely is surviving as a red state. In fact they will be fortunate to survive another election before going blue.
Republicans and Democratic Elite will continually fail in their promises to improve the quality of life for the poor and lower middle class. Infastructure falling apart. Service jobs with low wages and benefits.
Average cost of housing 1400.00 a month nation wide. (approx) 1/4 income recommended for rent. Even at $10 hr thats only $1600. People with no Healthcare will vote for single payer if they have no reasonable access to it any other way.
Reaganomics 2.0 will be even shorter of a boost than it was last time as corporations are still paying post recession wages and benefits.
I know poor people and have been poor working two jobs and still just surviving.
Their day to day lives have not improved.
They will continue to vote for conservative politicians based on religious concerns alone.
However financially things aren’t changing much for them.
The mid-terms should have been a wake up call.
That being said at least Wal-Mart gave some blanket raises.
Too bad other companies didn’t follow suit.
Anyways just my opinion and I know what those are worth.
