Rally outside ICE’s Atlanta office to protest President Trump’s state of emergency

Demonstrators plan to rally outside Atlanta’s office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of a national call to action on Monday at noon, to protest President Donald Trump’s state of emergency.

Trump declared a state of emergency Friday to help get the $8 billion in total funding he sought to build the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. That move came after the deal Congress struck earlier in the week to avoid another government shutdown called for only $1.375 billion, far less than the $5.7 billion he asked Congress for.

The Atlanta rally is organized by Georgia Alliance for Social Justice and partnering organizations: CAIR Georgia, Project South, GLAHR, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, J Street, Indivisible Georgia Coalition, ACLU of Georgia, Refuse Fascism Atl, Necessary Trouble Indivisible, The Immigration Education Project, Community Estrella, Racial Justice Action Center, Women Watch Afrika, Black Alliance for Just Immigration and Metro Atlanta Democratic Socialists. Representatives from these groups will speak at the rally.

“We are convening a coalition of concerned organizations to protest this administration’s unjust and likely illegal emergency declaration,” Janel Green, executive director of Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, said in a news release. “We will protest Trump’s racist immigration policies and the entire concept of the alleged need for billions of dollars to build a wall. We presently have a dozen partners for this action that will center on the voices of our immigrant communities, and the necessity for Georgia’s elected officials in the U.S. Senate to stand up against the dangerous policies of this administration and reject this harmful action.”

The ICE office is located at 180 Ted Turner Drive SW in downtown Atlanta.

Alec Baldwin suggests Trump's latest attack on 'SNL' could be 'a threat to my safety'

Alec Baldwin, the actor who parodies President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live," is responding to the president's latest shot at the show.

Baldwin is asking if Trump's tweet "constitutes a threat" to his family's safety.

On Saturday night, Baldwin reprised his Trump impersonation for an "SNL" skit that recreated the president's Friday morning speech about the border, the budget, and other subjects.

By "SNL" standards, it was par for the course. But Trump — who has fired back at the show numerous times in the past — fired up his Twitter account again on Sunday morning.

Trump called "SNL" unfunny and unfair, indicating that he probably saw at least parts of the episode from the night before.

"He's watching," CNN media analyst Bill Carter said on Sunday's "Reliable Sources."

Trump's tweet asked, "How do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into."

He added: "This is the real Collusion!"

Many social media commenters just shrugged off the president's talk about "retribution" for a sketch comedy show. But Peter Baker of The New York Times noted on Twitter that "No other president in decades publicly threatened 'retribution' against a television network because it satirized him."

In the past, Trump has also suggested that NBC station licenses should be challenged, without any evident follow-up.

Trump's frequent tweets against the media — primarily targeting news outlets that he calls the "enemy of the people" — have caused considerable concern at NBC and other companies.

At the end of the day on Sunday, Baldwin tweeted, "I wonder if a sitting President exhorting his followers that my role in a TV comedy qualifies me as an enemy of the people constitutes a threat to my safety and that of my family?"

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demonstrated another way for a politician to respond to an impersonator.

"Weekend Update" showed Schumer — played by Alex Moffat — gloating over the recent budget deal.

The senator then tweeted a link to the segment — which had Moffat holding up a smartphone — and said: "Good impersonation, SNL. But got one thing wrong. I use a flip phone!"

Rep. Waters To Her Minion — Take To The Streets Against Trump Using Fake Emergency Powers

Rep. Maxine Waters is calling on people across America to hold rallies against President Trump using the national emergency declaration for the southern border. Waters claims he’s using ‘fake emergency powers.’

effect, including a 1996 measure regulating boat traffic near Cuba but no President has moved money around without approval from Congress.

Waters told her minion the following:

“I really expect we’re going to have a growing number of Republicans that are going to join with us in this disapproval. Yes, they’re concerned if a Democratic president gets elected then they can use emergency powers to do a lot of the things they don’t like. As you know, they don’t believe in climate change. They don’t want us to talk about Medicare for all or any of those subjects they think we’ll spend too much government money, even though they’ve created the largest debt we’ve seen in government for many many years.”

“I’ve been talking about impeachment for a long time. I’m absolutely stunned and amazed that the American people have taken so much off of this president. This president has lied, I think it’s been documented, 8,000 times in the last two years. This president has committed obstruction of justice right before our very eyes. And if we could ever get Manafort to tell the truth, then we will find they conspired to get Trump elected so sanctions could be lifted off of Russia. President Obama created sanctions, placed them on Russia, because of their invasion, basically in Crimea, and they can’t drill into the Arctic, do some of these things they want to do.

They don’t have the equipment. Our allies are working with us to honor the sanctions, and that’s what this is all about. The Americans have taken too much off of this president. He is dishonorable. He does not deserve to be president of the United States. As a matter of fact, he loves Putin, dictators, loves Kim Jong-un, talking about they’re in love now.”

“And so it’s time for everybody to stand up. All hands on deck to refuse this president these fake emergency powers that he would like the have. And so I’m urging everybody get together —rally in every community across this country all this weekend, send a message to Washington, D.C., ‘No, Mr. President, we’re not going allow you to do this.”

Maxine is 80 years old with extreme loss of memory, intellect, rationality, social skills, and normal emotional reactions. She’s deep in the thralls of senility.

If America builds the wall we don’t ever have to worry about the Democrats taking power again, they are so far to the left the only way they get power is through the illegal immigrant vote.

In 2016, America rejected all the establishment politicians and elected a savvy businessman instead. The enraged political elitists on both sides of the aisle have been trying to sabotage the people’s choice ever since. I have never seen anything like it here in the US.

But despite all the roadblocks, President Trump has delivered a soaring economy and an all-time low unemployment rate. Imagine what he could accomplish for America if the media and the political establishment stopped attacking him, or better yet, treated him the same way they treated Barack Obama. But they do not care about the welfare of America. They care only about getting reelected.
