I think that was the implication when Q linked to THAAD. There are two possibilities as I see - either there was an attempt to use a THAAD system to shoot down AF1 (I find this a bit hard to believe, that would have gotten around among the military community as a whole command would have practically been sent to go make little rocks out of big rocks), or THAAD was deployed to intercept a ballistic (likely nuclear) missile.
If I had to piece together the probabilities and what I know about such systems/capabilities - I suspect the escort aircraft for AF1 have datalink capabilities with AF1 to provide terminal guidance support for ABM capabilities. I imagine that mobile platforms are present along AF1's flight path at almost every time. AF1 should be able to integrate into Fleet Defense systems as well as NORAD's systems to provide nearly seamless defense of AF1 from airborne and ballistic threats. The THAAD system just happened to be the responding battery, or one of several tapped (that just happened to be caught on camera).
Given the location, there should have been SM-3s launched from equipped ships in the area, as well.
Q's post about trying to convince Americans that the launch from another country was not authorized and an act to bait us into war was in reference to this. THIS makes sense - also why it would remain secret. People in the military are used to doing their job right and quietly. There are countless times where things happen and never see a public report because, sometimes, half the truth is more destructive than silence.
