Cluster of states file federal lawsuit seeking to thwart border wall construction

A group of 16 attorney generals filed a federal lawsuit late Monday evening, in pursuit of a temporary restraining order to stop President Trump from bypassing Congress and re-routing federal funds to fund his long-promised border wall.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in northern California, where federal judges have previously ruled against the Trump administration.

Seven MPs leave Labour Party in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's leadership

They are: Chuka Umunna, Luciana Berger, Chris Leslie, Angela Smith, Mike Gapes, Gavin Shuker and Ann Coffey.

Ms Berger said Labour had become institutionally anti-Semitic and she was "embarrassed and ashamed" to stay.

Ex-congressman Marino now cites health for resigning

Recently resigned U.S. Rep Tom Marino now says problems with his remaining kidney prompted him to leave Congress just three weeks after starting his fifth term.

The 66-year-old Marino abruptly announced his resignation last month, saying he was taking a job outside government. But Marino told The Daily Item of Sunbury that he decided to leave after another kidney problem required surgery.

Multiple bouts of kidney cancer have left Marino with just part of one kidney.
