In general, the frogmen of GW2 are called "Hylek", but my main focus was when they introduced the Heket during the Q timeline.
There's a lot of parallels with the timing of Q and GW2, story and introduction wise, just like Dragon Ball Super.
Even BABIES can understand the poopy the MSM smears around.

But timing and time/storyline aside…
It just seeeems like the devs are /ourguys/.
Little things just pop out at me, like going with Heket.
Itzel/Ix-Chel is a Mayan moon goddess or means "Rainbow"… but not a frog.
Zintl - "the product of a reaction between a group 1 (alkali metal) or group 2 (alkaline earth) and any post-transition metal or metalloid (i.e. from group 13, 14, 15 or 16). It is named after the German chemist Eduard Zintl", but again… not a frog reference.
Aaaand those are the only three frogman species that seem to have a name that references something outside of the game that i've come across so far.

Cuatl changes to Coatl, meaning "serpent or twin".
Again… not a frog like Heket.
A lot of the original Hylek naming was "influenced" by Central/South American naming styles.
And then suddenly you have Heket out of nowhere in an xpac.
Well, when you have 5-6 media companies and 3 holding companies that own all advertising…
They control the entirety of the media that is "mainstream" and isn't organic.
