Wilbur Ross Completes Section 232 Report – Auto Industry Executives Going Bananas….

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has completed the section 232 investigation on the auto industry, reviewing the sector as a vital economic interest for continued national security.

The content of the investigative finding is unknown. The Commerce Department has privately delivered the 232 report directly to the White House. However, with the possibility of the report empowering President Trump to implement 20 to 25% import auto tariffs industry executives are proactively going bananas.

An important aspect here is that the USMCA (U.S., Mexico and Canada) agreement exempts the trilateral North American pact from any auto tariff fear. If the vehicle consists of 75% North American (USMCA) content, there’s no tarif

At the 30,000 ft level, the USMCA deal positioned the U.S. and Mexico to retain their current multinational investments; and through a series of sector-by-sector standards on origination the deal simultaneously closed the fatal NAFTA loophole.

The USMCA agreement makes an economic manufacturing partnership between the U.S, Mexico and Canada; and for assembly products third parties will have to produce parts and origination material within the U.S. and Mexico.

Bern conservatives see no need for Gender Equality Office

Swiss conservatives of the EDU and SVP want to get rid of the Gender Equality Office in Bern. However the governing council of the city opposes their motion.

According to Sandra Schneider of the SVP in Bern equality has long been achieved in Switzerland. In an interview with Berner Zeitung, a newspaper, she is quoted: “In contrast to our mothers and grandmothers, the young generation today no longer knows of a fight of the sexes.”

A study by the Federal Office of Statistics for 2016 showed that women noticeably earned less than men by about 20 percent. However 60,9 percent of this can be easily explained.

Factors leading to differences in earnings include the level of education, number of years worked for the company and differences in functions.

When asked on International Women’s Day many women responded that they don’t feel disadvantaged to men, according to the SVP and EDU.

Iranian Parliament Allows Gov't to Apply for $5Bln Loan From Russia – Reports

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Iranian parliament voted to allow the government to apply for a $5 billion loan from Russia, local media reported Monday.

The lawmakers were discussing the next year’s budget bill on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency.

The loan is set to be spent on owning capital assets in infrastructure and production fields in accordance with the budget law, putting new energy, nuclear, power, railways, highways, dams, irrigation networks and water transportation projects as priority ones, the media said.

Last year, Iran's parliament has rejected budget submitted by President Hassan Rouhani over concerns the proposed spending cuts could stoke public uproar and anxiety.
